I got a new car! I got a new car!

It has been mine for a few hours now and I love it! It is a 2014 Mazda 2 and yes it is a 5-speed. There will be more pictures not taken with my potato 4S and a full review coming soon to an automotive blog near you!

Congratulations! First order of business, remove the wheel covers. Exposed steelies for the win. Any modifications planned?

Oh there are plenty planned haha. I might take the wheel covers off in the winter but I think I will leave them on for now. So anyways the planned mod list...

-springs, shocks. sway bars, strut tower bar, lightweight summer rims and tires, snow tires, mud flaps, intake, exhaust, and some minor appearance stuff to liven up the inside a bit.

Thank you! I have been pleasantly surprised taking it out on some back roads. The turn in is excellent which makes it feel really tossable, but I have to do something about all that body roll.

Awesome news! Check the pressure in the spare, girlfriends spare was pretty low when she got it. Factory wipers aren't all that great, especially the rear one, keep it in mind.

Buying a new (or even used car) is so awesome. Don't get me wrong, the entire ownership of the car is awesome, but the first few hours are the bestest. I like the Mazda 2...the green ones remind me of treefrogs.

What kind of engine does a mazda 2 have?

It is a 1.5 4 cylinder that makes 100 HP. It isn't as slow as you would think, and it does feel faster than it actually is but it is still pretty slow haha.

If I do get one I will definitely make a post about it. I'm not sure it will be worth it or not because it is super close to the firewall. There is a guy that lives around me that autox's his and from what I hear he hardly ever loses, so I will be asking him for advice.

Meh. My car has a 2.2L 129 HP ecotec, so I sympathize. However my car is 200 lbs heavier so it's probably equally as slow. We should drag race!
